When Laura and Shaun contacted me more then a year before their wedding, I had a feeling that their wedding at Bristol Zoo will be amazing and I was right. They came recommended by Bristol Zoo, where I photograph weddings on a regular basis and I love it. A Bristol Zoo wedding is so much fun and is always an amazing experience for all of the guests.
I started the day with bridal preparation at Bristol Marriott Royal hotel where I photographed Laura with her lovely bridesmaids. It was great to see stylist Helen Farley, who again did a fantastic job.
I was equally impress by the colourful flowers by the very talented Bramble & Wild, an award winning florist from Frome. I then headed up to Bristol Zoo to catch up with Shaun and the boys as guests started to arrive. It was also a chance to capture wedding rings created by Annette Gabbedey.
The Clifton Pavilion looked really beautiful and was a gorgeous backdrop for the ceremony, which was very touching and personal. After some group shots, we went with Laura and Shaun to say hello to the seals and penguins, just in time for the wedding breakfast which took place in the Garden room. I must admit that I was very impressed with all the decorations (chair covers and balloons) by Just So Occasions. The couple also put in lots of effort to personalise their wedding day as much as possible, which showed their personality and was a pleasure to capture. Thumbs up to you! Before the wedding breakfast the couple also cut their masterpiece cake supplied by Mmm…Yummy Cakes.
After the wedding breakfast and the speeches and when the zoo was closed to the public, the guests headed off for another wander around looking at the animals. That’s the part of the day where I take the couple for another mini session, as usually the quality of light is great and the couple is more relaxed at this stage. After the first dance The Critters band was in charge of keeping the guests on the dance floor and they did it just right. It was also great to hear some tunes that you don’t usually hear at weddings. As usual I used the small room next to the dance floor to set up my photo-booth which was great fun and entertainment for all the family and the evening guests.
This Sunday 1st of December Love Actually is holding a Christmas Wedding Fayre at Bristol Zoo. You can expect Santa, Mulled Wine, Mince Pies and more! An event not to be missed.
“Martin photographed our wedding at Bristol Zoo in August this year. He was fantastic- selecting him as our photographer was the best decision we made! His calm, friendly and down to earth manner had us instantly relaxed. The guest all loved him- we had lots of compliments! The photo studio at the end was particularly popular with the guests! The end results were absolutely stunning- we are so happy with both the photos and the beautiful album that Martin designed. Highly recommend to anyone!
