Bristol wedding photographer – The Council House and Water sky wedding

I’m very pleased to have been featured in the latest issue of West Weddings magazine. The featured wedding was the marriage of Michael & Sylvia where Chinese traditions mingled with Irish celebrations.

I love photographing fusion weddings and I was looking forward to capturing this wedding for a while. I was recommended to Sylvia from the very dear couple whose wedding I had the pleasure to photograph in Ashton Court back in 2009.

We started the day with Sylvia’s preparations at The Bristol Royal Marriott and then moved to the Council House just around the corner for the wedding ceremony. On the way to the Water sky, where the traditional Chinese reception was held, we stopped for a few shots by The Suspension Bridge where we had as much fun as a few months back on their Engagement session.

At The Water sky restaurant Sylvia changed into a red Chinese wedding gown for the very emotional tea ceremony and the evening reception. The Yi Quin Lion Dance Group performed a Chinese lion dance, heralding the entrance of the couple. Water Sky put on a fantastic Chinese banquet and after the very touching speeches the couple did their first dance which they had been rehearsing for a while, which was a killer.

As over 200 guests had fun on the dance floor with Irish dancing, we set up our photo booth which added extra sparkle and fun to an excellent day.

When Sylvia & Michael received their stunning wedding album, they left their review on Freeindex:

“Martin did a fantastic job at our wedding on the 14th July 2012 at the Bristol Council House! The photos were beautiful, elegant and really caught the moment. Every time we look at our photos, including the video montage, wedding album (which we love as we ordered the A3 size) just brings back all those wonderful memories from the day. The photo booth at the evening reception also provided enjoyable and fun photos of guests! He is a really genuine guy and a joy to have him share our special day with us!”

It was a pleasure to work alongside Carmen from Carmen Weddings who provided the co-ordination services and Charlotte and Chris from Mr & Mrs Production who filmed this unforgettable wedding.
