Berkeley castle wedding photography

In May last year I visited beautiful Berkeley Castle in Gloucestershire to photograph wedding of one very lovely couple, Nick and Evelyn. I got to know them a bit better when I did their engagement shoot back in March and I really loved their sense of humor and attitude to life. The couple came recommended by Nick’s friends that wedding I had a pleasure to photograph at Painswick Rococo Garden the year before.
Berkeley Castle is a splendid, beautiful and glorious medieval fortress and one of the most amazing wedding venues in the UK.
Despite being one of the most remarkable buildings in the country, Berkeley Castle has been lived in by the same family for over 950 years!

We started the day with Evelyn’s preparations at Tortworth Court Hotel and then moved to the Slimbride Church for the wedding service.

If you are considering a Wedding at Berkeley Castle, please don’t hesitate to contact me to discuss your Wedding photography requirements.

PS. Check Evelyn’s advice on how to plan your wedding at the end of the post!

What advice could you give to brides who are planning their wedding?
Two great pieces of advice I got before our wedding: on a practical note, take the time to ensure your shoes for the day are as comfortable as possible – gel cushions, heel plasters, whatever works, it will be worth it at the end of the evening when you can still walk with your head held high and you’re not wincing!
Secondly, take some time at least two or three times in the day, to stop and take it all in, absorb everything around you, just calmly watch, and know that everyone there is wrapping you both in their love – it is a unique and very precious moment in your lives.
